Bad Doctors Are Primary Reason For Medical Malpractice Crisis
Physicians and their insurance companies are crying the blues again.
According to Dr. David Lubin (Saturday Forum,
June 15), there is a "medical crisis" because medical malpractice insurance
premiums have risen sharply. There is a
crisis, all right, but it is in the care that patients receive from
their doctors. According to the Institute of Medicine,
between 44,000 and 98,000 Americans die every year because of medical
mistakes. That equates to a loaded 747
crashing and killing everyone on board every single day of the year.
In such a circumstance, would anyone be
sympathetic to calls for relaxed safety inspections?
